Buffalo City Attorney Ben Kirven spoke to the city council at their meeting this week to ask for approval to sign and send an agreement for the city to pay for moving expenses for the new city planner.
The agreement, according to Kirven, is for $2,000 to cover her expenses and was a condition for her accepting the position.
The planner's name was not mentioned in the meeting, but the council did say she was moving from Dayton, Texas.
The hiring of a new city planner was necessitated by the resignation of former City Planner Zach Montgomery, who tendered his resignation at the September 17th council meeting.
The new planner will be the fifth the City of Buffalo has had since 2004.
