The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced a reminder Friday that mountain lion Hunt Area 23 closed January 16th. In a media release, the department says the area closed because the harvest limit of 20 mountain lions was reached.
Area 23 is the east slope of the Bighorn Mountains from U.S. Highway 16 north to Montana, and from the Bighorn Mountain divide east to Interstate 90. The hunt area will reopen for the fall season on September 1st.
The department says mountain lion hunters are reminded to check the status of their hunt area by calling (800) 637-0809.
