A Casper hunter, missing for two weeks, was found alive by his father just days after rescuers suspended their search. 39-year-old Travis McMahan’s father said his son had probably died when they initially called off the search. However, McMahan’s father convinced several others to make one last effort before weather in the southern Big Horn Mountains made any searches useless.
McMahan had been missing since he failed to return to his hunting camp on October 24th. He found an old cabin after spending three nights on his own after becoming lost. Then he broke into a cabin where he found some food. He had kept to the area around the cabin until running out of food last weekend. He was spotted when he started walking in search of food and civilization. McMahan refused medical treatment after his ordeal and was just happy to have been found.
