This Saturday, January 30th, Anna Nelson, Miss Wyoming 2009, will be competing at the Miss America 2010 pageant in Las Vegas. Anna hails from Rock Springs, and was crowned at the WYO Theater in Sheridan last June. Her platform is Preventing Teen Alcohol Abuse, and her talent is a character dance done on point.
Co-Executive Director of the Miss Wyoming Scholarship Program, Kelly Miller-Smart, tells us we can be proud of the young lady representing the Cowboy State.
As for the Preliminaries this week, Kelly says that Miss Wyoming held her own in her interview in front of a broadcasting giant.
Friday night there will be an hour-long special on the Miss America Pageant and this year's contestants, as well as footage of some of the preliminary competitions, which has never been done in the past. Then Saturday night, we'll find out who will wear the Miss America crown, and we can all do our best Cowboy Joe cheer for Miss Wyoming, Anna Nelson. Both programs will air on TLC (The Learning Channel) -- check your local listings for the time.
