Miss Wyoming 2010 Crowned

Alicia Grove, Miss Wyoming 2010, with the eight other contestants and pageant entertainers.

Miss Wyoming 2010, Alicia Grove, Miss Sweetwater County from Rock Springs, was crowned at the WYO Theatre in Sheridan Saturday night. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has more.

Using the Emerald City and a take on the Broadway musical "Wicked" as their theme, the Miss Wyoming Scholarship pageant sparkled in green, delighting audiences not only with a competition among nine young women, but entertaining them with songs and humor.

At the end of the night, the crown was placed upon the head of Alicia Grove. Master of Ceremonies, Ryan Koltiska, made the announcement.

After a flurry of photographs and hugs and well wishes, Alicia took a few moments to chat with me about her win.

Along with winning the title, Alicia was also chosen in a tie with Alyssa Lane, Miss University of Wyoming, as Miss Congeniality.

Alicia will now begin a very busy year traveling around the Cowboy State to promote her platform, cardiovascular health and heart disease prevention, as well as preparing for the Miss America competition, to be held in Las Vegas in January.
