Medication Take Back Program Has Two Local Drop-Off Spots

The Wyoming Department of Health is holding a medication take back program. Here in town, Sheridan Memorial Hospital and Sheridan County Public Health are two of the drop-off sites, but there are some important things to keep in mind before depositing your pills.

Kirsi Ludwig, pharmacy manager at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, explains.

After medications are collected and deposited in Cheyenne, they will then be dispensed to low income patients in the state.

The drop-off spot at Sheridan County Public Health is located at 297 South Main Street and unopened, non-scheduled medications can be deposited inside the office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

At Sheridan Memorial Hospital, medication donors can visit the front desk and ask for the pharmacy department on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 2 and 4 p.m. Donors at both locations will be asked to fill out a brief form.

Opened prescription bottles for both controlled substances and other medications can always be returned to the police station.
