Meatheads? No Way!

You could hear the music blocks away, but being there, you felt the electricity. It was the first of its kind in Wyoming; it was the 1st annual Cowboy State Strongman Classic held in front of PUREENERGY Fitness on Riverside.

Promotor Jake Benth gives us a simple definition of a strongman competition.

Sarge Allen, a North American Strongman representative was there and explains what is at stake in the competition.

Twenty-three competitors from across the nation showed up in Sheridan to compete, including local strong woman, Bobbie Mitzel, who has trained for the last year and a half for this kind of competition. But she also has had to face some mental barriers.

It takes more than just lifting weights to compete at this level.

This isn't a “dummy” sport. It's training and technique. There's a science to weight lifting.

Plans are to make this an annual event in Sheridan.
