LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Gov. Matt Mead says some people in Casper and Gillette have inquired about creating another four-year public university in Wyoming. But Mead says he's against the idea.
He says he believes the state should have one university - the University of Wyoming - and a strong community college system with the two working in partnership.
The governor also told members of the Wyoming Press Association on Friday that there could be wolf hunting in Grand Teton National Park but details still need to be worked out with the Interior Department.
Wyoming is working on a management plan that would end federal protection for gray wolves in the state. Mead says any discussion about hunting wolves in Grand Teton must be dealt with cautiously.
