In a presentation to business leaders earlier this month, Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey said their goal is clear and has been the same for years.

Speaking about economic growth, he said we’ve got agriculture, energy, travel and tourism, but they’re all volatile.

But, he said, here’s the bad news.

There is, however, some good news, he said, from the private sector.

Other good news, he said, is that after the city tried to acquire a public subsidy for fiber optic to help build up capacity in Sheridan, they found, according to reports, that we have everything needed for small data centers, but not large. So, he said, he’s taken action.

He said he hopes they can make that happen. There’s good news from the public sector, too, he said. For the details on that portion of his speech, stay tuned to Sheridan media. We plan to have that story later in the week.
