GILLETTE, (AP) - The body of a Wyoming Marine who was killed in Afghanistan will be flown to Gillette on Wednesday, and his funeral is scheduled for Thursday. The Defense Department says 19-year-old Lance Corporal Jacob A. Ross died March 24 in combat operations in Helmand Province.
The plane bearing Ross' body is scheduled to arrive at the Gillette-Campbell County Airport at noon Wednesday. His casket will be removed from the plane in a private ceremony and taken to Family Life Church with an honor procession. Ross was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
