Nearly three hundred people were in attendance to listen to Wyoming Governor Matt Mead speak at Wednesday's Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the details.
Governor Mead talked in depth about the State's energy strategy, a strategy that was two years in the making and was recently unveiled. The Governor outlined four priorities of the strategy, economic competitiveness, efficient regulation, natural resource conservation and developing new technologies. Mead stressed that energy development needs to be done right.
Mead said that there's a misconception about providing low cost energy.
The Governor also discussed the requirement for baseline groundwater testing, which is part of the energy strategy, and the need to keep progressing in the technological field. We'll go more in depth on both of those issues with the Governor over the next few days.
