The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted today to cut off federal funding for ACORN, which stand for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Representative Cynthia Lummis voted in favor of the cut off, and she explains her reasoning for doing so.
On Monday, the Senate voted 83-7 to deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN. The House vote today was 345-75.
