A Look Back in Time: May 9, 1914

The school board in a special meeting voted to add manual training and domestic science courses to public school classes next year.

Rooms for each will be fitted in the high school, John E. Taylor and Coffeen avenues schools.

The large marble block that will mark the site of the first log cabin in Sheridan has been set in place. It will be unveiled tomorrow by the Sheridan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The Caledonian dance yesterday evening was one of the most enjoyable affairs ever given by the organization. The event was at the pavilion in New Acme, which was decorated in red, white and blue for the occasion. Pollard's orchestra provided the music.
