A Look Back in Time: March 5, 1914

Work has started on moving the old frame buildings on North Main street where the new Jenrich block is to be constructed. J.C. Early is moving the two structures that now occupy the site.

They will be taken to lots at the junction of Sheridan avenue and Burkitt street. W.A. Jones has the contract for the new Jenrichs block, and he will begin work next week. The new brick building will cost between ten and eleven thousand dollars.

Mrs. A. W. Long passed away at her home on North Main street this morning at 2:25 o'clock after several months' illness. She was operated on just before Christmas, and has been critically ill ever since. She was 65.

Sheridan Lodge 520 of the Elks held their annual election last night at the club house. J. Ira Kirby was chosen exalted ruler. Roy Seney was elected esteemed leading knight, and R.H. Sinclair esteemed loyal knight.
