A Look Back in Time: March 31, 1914

W.H. Coleman of Ulm won the grand prize for best general exhibit of farm produce at the Wyoming Dry Farmers Conference in Cheyenne.

The award - $15 in cash – was given for his exhibit of two varieties of wheat, barley, oats and flax, all raised by Mr. Coleman.

The city council awarded Charles Bosen the contract to lay the new water pipe to Pioneer Park. Mr. Bosen's bid was several cents cheater per foot than a bid submitted by another contractor.

E.S. Townsend at Beckton Mills is introducing the mills' new “Mountain Loaf” flour with a special sale. For cash only, 1,000 sacks of flour will be available for $1.20 per sack – or $2.35 for two sacks – to be delivered any place in Sheridan. For those who come to the mill for their sacks, the price will be $1.15 each.

For Sheridan Media, this is Pat Blair, with a look at Sheridan County on March 31, 1914.
