Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on March 30, 1914.
Owners of three local clothing stores have asked Sheridan's city council to enact an ordinance against so-called “suit clubs.” They say the clubs can be prohibited because they are gambling propositions. There are currently four suit clubs operating in the city, and the clothing store owners say they are interfering with legitimate business to quite an extend. The council has taken the matter under advisement.
Sheridan's Commercial club will consider the subject of forming an auto club at the weekly luncheon.
Police arrested a man this morning on a charge of stealing a box of cigars from the Kentucky saloon.
The school committee will select teachers for next year at the regular meeting this week.
For Sheridan Media, this is Pat Blair, with a look at Sheridan County on March 30, 1914.
