At least 70 men attended last evening's meeting of the Sheridan Commercial Club at the Great Western Hotel.
A number of stirring speeches emphasized their slogan that they are for a greater and better Sheridan.
The auction at the Adams ranch yesterday brought a trifle over $19,500. About 300 active bidders attended, buying 341 head of cattle and a few horses and hogs. The cattle brought very good prices. One batch of cows with calves brought $79 a head.
County commissioners announced they will petition the city to complete and grade Brooks Street between Burkitt and Whitney. The unfinished part of the street is on the steep hill just west of the county courthouse and jail, and commissioners are anxious to improve the appearance of their vicinity.
