A Look Back in Time: July 29, 1914

Some Sheridan area residents may have been in a coaching party held up in Yellowstone Park today.

Two men robbed more than 160 passengers, getting away with around $3,000. Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Fryberger, Mr. and Mrs. John Tolander, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Chapman, Ms. Dave Kahn and little son are now in the park and were expected to go through in one of the big coaching parties.

Roddy Legerski, the 6-year-old son of John Legerski of Kooi, was badly injured yesterday afternoon when a shotgun shell exploded. The boy and several companions were playing with the shell. The boy had the shell in his hand when he touched a lighted match to it, and the shell went off. The boy has been taken to the hospital in Sheridan.
