Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 8, 1914.
The Round Table Club and City Mission are in need of donations to care for the extra number of men they have been accommodating during the recent cold nights. Warm bedding is urgently needed, as well as more beds and food for the additional meals that are being prepared.
The mine board of examiners for Sheridan County are meeting in New Acme today and tomorrow. They are looking at applicants for certification as mine bosses, assistant mine bosses and fire bosses.
Bob Terry is selling pure lard for 15 cents a pound. Other specials include beets for two and a half cents a pound, carrots 3 cents a pound, and potatoes $1.25 per 100 pounds. He's got boxes of fancy apples for $2 each.
