A Look Back in Time: April 25, 1914

Fire this morning ruined machinery and the main building of the Sheridan Brick and Tile company.

Damage is estimated at around $4,500, although the exact loss cannot be determined immediately. The fire was discovered at about 4:45 this morning by people living near the plant, and the manager was notified at once. But by that time, the building was all ablaze. The fire department sent its hose wagon, but the pull was a hard one for the horses, as the streets in that section of the city are in a very muddy condition.

Sheridan's municipal Clean-up Day – already postponed once – may again have to be delayed as poor weather continues here.
