Two autograph signing sessions have been planned with the stars of the 'Longmire' TV show who are in Buffalo for the weekend's Longmire Days celebration. They'll be held both this morning and Saturday morning, from 9-noon. Today's will be in the former Clear Creek Elementary School. Saturday's session will be held in downtown Buffalo, in Crazy Woman Square.
The stars scheduled to be there are Robert Taylor, who plays Sheriff Walt Longmire, the sheriff's daughter Cady, aka Cassidy Freeman, Louanne Stephens, who is dispatcher Ruby on the show, and deputies Vic and The Ferg, otherwise known as Katee Sackhoff and Adam Bartley. Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays the sheriff's friend Henry Standing Bear couldn't make it, nor could Bailey Chase, who portrays Deputy Connolly.
'The Ferg' got a jump on the others, Tuesday night, coming in to the area early to be at the book signing in Sheridan for author Craig Johnson of Ucross who's Longmire books are what the A&E show is based. In an interview prior to the author's talk, The Ferg said he was looking forward to his Longmire Days weekend.
In addition to being an actor, he's also a musician and stand-up comic. Last year, during Longmire Days, he performed his comedy routine at the historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo. This year, he's bringing in his band, to present an evening of jazz standards Sunday night, from 6-8, as the finale of the celebration.
