Longmire Season Three Begins

Johnson County’s well-known author Craig Johnson of Ucross sent us a note saying the third season of A&E’s “Longmire” series based on his books kicked-off last night.

If you missed the premier, the show can be seen on-demand. The author says the set up for the season poses several questions – Will Sheriff Longmire be indicted? Will his friend Henry get out of prison? Will his deputy Branch survive? Johnson said the show has turned into the network’s highest-rated scripted drama.

Also, he said his latest book, “Any Other Name,” which is the 11th in the Walt Longmire Mystery series, is in its third printing and No. 6 on the New York Times Bestseller’s List.

Johnson County’s Longmire Days community celebration in Buffalo that comes up in July is based on the series because that’s the town the author fashioned his fictitious town around, including the Busy Bee café on Main Street.

For this year’s celebration, organizers have already received word that all of the leading actors in the series will be coming to Buffalo to participate in the festivities, including Robert Taylor and Lou Diamond Phillips. The celebration runs from July 18-20.
