Locals perform teenage musical next week in Sheridan. Leslie Stratmoen has the story.
Twenty-two local actors, ranging in age from 12-17, will take to the stage next week to present the ongoing struggle to fit in, through the musical, “13.” In an interview this week on the Public Pulse show Culley Emborg told me the play's characters represent all the teenage stereotypes.
Leah Olesen plays Patrice, I learned. On my urging, the two presented a short scene, following a set up by director Emma Hall.
Bret, the jock, is played by Garrett Szmyd. He described his character further and said playing the part has been challenging.
Bringing Kendra, the cheerleader, to life will be Riley Griffith who gave us an idea about her character’s personality by delivering just one line.
The show runs from Wednesday through Saturday next week, at the Mars Theater, inside the WYO on Sheridan’s Main Street. The show starts at 7. Tickets are $10, available at the door.
