Local Women Nominated For Award

A number of women either from Northeast Wyoming or with ties here have been nominated for the “Wyoming Women of Influence Award,” presented by the Wyoming Business Report.

Sixty-one women from around the state have been nominated in ten different categories; Hospitality, Energy, Nonprofit, Government, Manufacturing, Business and Business Services, Lifetime Achievement, Education, Banking and Finance, and Healthcare.

Angela Jarvis, Executive Director of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, was nominated in the Nonprofit category, and she said people in the community or from around the state can make nominations.

She said Buffalo and NE Wyoming were well represented in the nominations.

The awards ceremony will be August 8th at Little America in Cheyenne, where 1 woman in each of the above categories will be awarded for this year.

Jarvis said she wasn't sure if she would be attending the ceremony, but was thrilled to be nominated.

Nominated from this area were: in Hospitality, Judith Blair, Blair Hotels, VP of Marketing and Sales; and Christine Hill, Timberline Hospitalities LLC, Director of Revenue.
In Energy, Kristen Kelly, Powder River Energy Corp,. Marketing and Communications Specialist.
In Nonprofit, Angela Jarvis, Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director.
In Manufacturing, Karen Hostetler and Valerie Spanos, Owners, Mountain Meadow Wool Mill; and Peggy Drury, Crazy Woman Water LLC, Founder.
