At the Buffalo City Council meeting Tuesday afternoon, Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder informed the council that the BPD and Johnson County Sheriffs Office have adopted a zero-tolerance policy on bar fights, stemming from an altercation last month at the Centery Club that resulted in the death of 45-year old Brian Newman.
Chief Carder explains further.
Carder also reported there were three animal calls in the county for the ACO and the county will be billed $150 for September.
And the BPD responded to 1,038 incidents during the last month.
A radio maintenance agreement was sent to Carder in July in the amount of $15,589.32 which is higher than the $4,000 Carder allocated for in this year's budget. Carder said it covers dispatch consoles and radios in the vehicles and no one knew the amount would increase that much. He said he wanted council aware of the issue before it takes effect next month.
Carder also informed the council of a state-mandated two-day training his officers will be attending in November.
