Security is a word that Michele and Alan Ortega take very seriously, especially this weekend while Big Horn Country USA is Sheridan.
She is the owner, and her husband the manager, of Alamo Guest Services, the company responsible for keeping the three-day event as trouble-free as possible.
Michele Ortega talked about the company's job Thursday while the show was being set up.
She said three-day events like this one are security issues 24-7.
Alamo Guest Services is based here in Sheridan and is working in partnership with the Trails End Motel and Big Horn Country to ensure that everything goes smoothly. The owner, who also works at Sheridan's VA Medical Center, said the company has been in operation for three years. Past jobs have included services at The Pony during the Sheridan-WYO Rodeo parade, and last year, an event for the Gold Buckle Club. The company also is available for private parties. She added they have also provided security for hard-rock concerts here.
For Big Horn Country USA, the company has 35 to 40 employees on the grounds, taking care of what she calls their “little piece of the puzzle.” Michele Ortega added, “We enjoy people.”
