A Freshman at Sheridan High School has been selected by Google as one of the 50 state finalists for a special contest hosted by Google. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.

Representatives from Google were at Sheridan High School Wednesday for the announcement that 15-year-old Lauren Sarantopulos has been selected to represent Wyoming in the Doodle 4 Google contest.

Sarantopulos explains that you can help her win the grand prize by voting for her artwork entitled Living in a Fairytale.

As one of the 50 finalists, Sarantopulos has been invited to attend the awards ceremony at the national finalists competition in New York City May 22, where the winner will be announced. Voting will be open until May 10, at 5 pm.

If Lauren wins the grand prize, she'll receive a $30,000 college scholarship and Sheridan High School will receive a $50,000 technology grant. To vote for Lauren's doodle, click here.
