Liquor licenses in the City of Sheridan run on a calendar year basis. The City Council approved most city-issued licenses for the year. The rub comes with the bar and grill licenses. When originally issued in May 2008, the license holders were given two years to put the licenses into use. Two of the three have shown no progress toward a functioning business in more than a year. At last night's Council meeting, Councilor Bob Webster says those licensees will have to show substantial completion very soon.
The Council voted to approve all the renewals with the exception of the bar and grill licenses allocated to Progressive Development and The New York Store.
The Council finished by meeting in executive session to discuss personnel concerns. They did not take any action following the session.
