The 29th annual Buffalo Lion's Club Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby will be this coming Memorial Day Weekend.
Lion's Club Chairman Keith Neustel said the derby is a family friendly event, with prizes for all ages. Over $50,000 in cash and prizes will be available to win during the weekend, from tagged fish worth anywhere from $100 to $2,000 each, prizes for length and weight in different categories, and prizes for contests each day. This year's grand prize is a Kawasaki 610 4x4 xc.
Neustel said funds rasied from the derby will be used in the community through the club's various charitable donations.
The Lions Club also provides hot chocolate during the annual Christmas Parade, and they sponsor one of the American Legion's Boys State representatives.
