Last Friday, District Judge William J. Edelman sentenced Michael Allan Lindstrom to two consecutive sentences of life without the possibility of parole followed by a consecutive sentence of 40 to 50 years in prison.
Back in December a Buffalo jury convicted Lindstrom of three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree; three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Third Degree; two counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree and two counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery.
Lindstrom received concurrent sentences of life without the possibility of parole on three charges that he sexually abused a child under the age of ten. He received three concurrent sentences of life without the possibility of parole on three charges that he sexually abused a second minor under the age of ten, with this sentence to be served consecutively to the first three charges.
Lindstrom was then sentenced to 40-50 years in prison on two counts of Sexual Assault of an adult and two counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery.
The sentences on these last four crimes are to be served concurrently to each other and consecutive to the sentences of the Sexual Abuse of a Minor charges.
Kenneth DeCock, Johnson County and Prosecuting Attorney, said in a News Release, “I am pleased that Judge Edelman saw fit to accept my recommendations. The sentence sends a clear message that we will not minimize these crimes and the effects they have on our neighbors and community.
It is hard to believe that crimes this heinous can happen here in our community. It took great effort and cooperation between my office, the Buffalo Police Department and the Department of Family Services to bring this case to this successful conclusion; I commend all involved for their efforts.”
