A jury in the Fourth Judicial District Court in Buffalo on Thursday found Michael Lindstrom guilty of three counts of first degree sexual abuse of a minor; three counts of second degree sexual abuse of a minor; two counts of sexual assault; and two counts of aggravated assault.
According to information in an earlier news release from the Johnson County Attorney's Office, the sexual abuse of a minor charges carry a sentence of life without parole on each count. The sexual assault charges each carry a minimum sentence of 25 years and a maximum of life. Because Lindstrom has previous felony convictions, the aggravated assault charges carry a minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of 50 years.
The trial began Thursday, December 12, with jury selection and the opening statements. The trial continued Friday and this week before the verdict came back Thursday night. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
