This weekend's Light Up Buffalo events were fun for those participating, and successful in raising funds for the Buffalo Downtown Association (BDA).
Shoppers found their treasures throughout the day while filling out their entry forms to win a free iPad.
The main events began at 5:30pm with the fireworks display in Prosinski Park, provided by State Senator Bruce Burns. Many thought this year's fireworks were bigger and better than last year.
The crowd then moved to Crazy Woman Square to be entertained by local favorite singer Justin Beasley, who performed a free set of country/western music, and even a holiday song or two.
The evening wrapped up at the Cowboy Carousel Center with the Festival of Trees. A live auction of trees and wreaths raised almost $4,000 to benefit the BDA.
Appetizers, refreshments, a limited edition wine tasting and collector ornaments were all available during the festival as well.
Ken Grant of Sheridan visited all the necessary vendors, collected the signatures and submitted his entry, winning the free iPad courtesy of the BDA and First Northern Bank of Buffalo.
Jennifer Haskins, Executive Director of the BDA, called this year's Light Up Buffalo events “a great success.”
