The Sheridan County Library Foundation is raising funds for the Public Library Endowment Challenge. Library Director Cameron Duff reminds us what this entails.
Duff says their goal from 2008 to date was to raise $213,000. That would be matched by the state to bring the amount to $383,000, along with a $100,000 one-time incentive. This brought the total to about $739,000. The legislature may also pass the allocation of $3 million more to Wyoming's counties; our portion would bring the Sheridan County Library Endowment total to just under $1 million.
Duff says the funds are being placed in a permanent endowment account.
Duff adds that they have a goal to build up the interest over the next five or so years before they dip in to those funds.
If you would like to donate any amount – even one dollar – that will be tripled, fill out the form on the back of the monthly mailer that is sent out to all Sheridan County residents, or bring your donation to any of the Sheridan County libraries.
