Letters of Intent Sought for Clerk Vacancy

Sheridan County Clerk's office is located in the newer section of the Sheridan County Courthouse.

The death of Sheridan County Clerk Audrey Koltiska last week has the Republican Party, the party with which Koltiska was affiliated, working within the process to fill her seat. Party Chair, Kathy Coleman, said that by receiving notice last Friday of the vacancy, state statute gives them fifteen days to select three names. Coleman explains the process.

Koltiska had run unopposed in 2006; does Coleman feel there will be difficulty in finding someone to fill the vacancy?

The general public is welcome to attend the general session on Tuesday, but only Precinct Men or Women, or someone carrying a Proxy will be allowed to be in the Executive Session to cast a vote.

If you are interested in applying for the County Clerk position, send your Letter of Intent to Party Secretary Helen Voyages, 1555 Hillcrest Drive, Sheridan, WY 82801 by 5 pm Friday, April 2nd. Nominations may also be made from the floor at the April 6th meeting. The meeting begins at 6 pm in the Sheridan College C-Tel Presentation Hall.
