Governor Mead Appoints Buffalo Resident as Poet Laureate

During a signing ceremony for his Executive Order, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead announced Eugene M. Gagliano as the new Poet Laureate for Wyoming. Gagliano is a retired elementary school teacher from Buffalo and is the eighth Poet Laureate in state history.

Several Active Fires in Montana and Colorado

Although the Browning Fire in Wyoming’s Crook County is almost fully contained, there are still several active fires in the surrounding areas. Currently in Montana, there is a natural caused fire that has burned 2,142 acres in Rosebud County.

Fire Restrictions in Sheridan County

With the hot, dry conditions that have befallen much of Wyoming, Sheridan County has put in place fire restrictions. These restrictions are in place so that fires can be prevented according to Goose Valley Fire Chief Bob Williams.
