The city council this morning awarded the contract for grading a portion of Brooks Street. The street will be graded between Whitney and Burkitt Streets, behind the courthouse. Contractor is M.J. Conley, whose bid was just over $1,300.
Another round of contract negotiations between the City of Sheridan and the Firefighters Union Local 276 took place at Monday night's Sheridan City Council meeting. The City countered the union's proposal from two weeks ago with amendments to their original proposal that they submitted in May.
Mary Ellbogen-Garland and her mother, Ruth Ellbogen, representing the Ellbogen Foundation, were in Buffalo at the last Johnson County School Board meeting to present the district with a plaque honoring them for becoming the first, and so far, only school district to earn the Ellbogen Meritorious School District certification.
