Wyoming Reports 515 Jobs From Federal Stimulus

CHEYENNE, (AP) - Wyoming reports that state and local spending from the federal economic stimulus program has created or retained the equivalent of 515 jobs in the state since it started early this year.

Governor Freudenthal Cautious About Lower State Revenues as He Crafts State Budget

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Governor Dave Freudenthal said he will be conservative when he looks at the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group’s report, due later this week, as he drafts the 2011-2012 State Budget.

The governor's comments came during a media conference he held in Cheyenne Wednesday.

National Guard Shows Support For Families Of Wyoming Troops

Major General Ed Wright is the adjutant general of the Wyoming Army National Guard. He was in town yesterday to update the public on the status of Wyoming troops currently deployed in the Middle East. Wright says the Guard will support families left behind by the deployed servicemen.

Plane Crash In Southern Montana Kills Two Men

Yellowstone County officials say two men were killed when their small plane crashed about 30 miles southeast of Billings. Debbie Alke is with the Montana Aeronautics Division.

The Cessna 182 left Sheridan about 11 a.m. Tuesday and was reported overdue by a family member Tuesday afternoon. The plane was registered to Montana rancher Fred Wallis.

City Receives Updated Flood Plain Maps

The City of Sheridan presented the updated draft flood plain maps during a City Council work session on Wednesday. Updates to flood plain maps usually takes some time but the process was extended in the Sheridan area due to the amount of updated contour information submitted to the Army Corps of Engineers.

SAWS Continues The Debate Of Whether An Administrator Is Needed

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board continues to mull over the idea of eliminating the administrator position that is in charge of the day to day operation of SAWS. Current SAWS Administrator Dave Engels says that while the options remain open, the Board elected to table the matter.

WYDOT Crews Continue Work On Construction Project On The Mountain

Missing Child Report Turns Out To Be A Hoax

The McDonald’s restaurant in the Sheridan Wal-Mart store received a call on Wednesday reporting a missing 4-year-old girl. Store employees immediately notified Sheridan Police and started searching for the girl. Police Officer Dan White says the call was a prank.

BILLINGS, Mont. -- Yellowstone County officials say two men were killed when their small plane crashed about 30 miles southeast of Billings. Undersheriff Seth Weston said there were no signs of survivors at the crash scene.
