The 21st Annual Rocky Mountain Leather Show opens to the public today with nearly 70 vendors exhibiting wares from leather-working tools to saddles to works of leather art.
The event is at the Holiday Inn from 9 to 5 today and Saturday, and 9 till 3 on Sunday.
The show is the oldest in the Rocky Mountain region, and the brainchild of Dot and the late Bill Reis and Sheridan saddlemaker Don King.
The Reis's daughter, Charil, explained how the event came to the Holiday Inn.
Show events began earlier this week with workshops conducted by professionals in the leather trade. Some of the instructors also are vendors. Exhibitors began setting up Thursday in the convention center and the atrium of the hotel.
