A leadership seminar entitled “Social Action in Rural Communities” will be presented at the Sheridan College in Johnson County Campus on Thursday.
Rhonda Shipp, Emerita Senior Extension Educator, will give the presentation and the following workshop that is designed to help leaders in Buffalo and Johnson County find ways to better work together on various ideas and projects that will benefit local businesses and residents.
Angela Jarvis, Director of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, explains the event further.
Jarvis said the various committees and boards are run by volunteers, in cooperation with local elected officials, and this will give them guidelines and information to help them learn to work together and to move these projects forward.
Residents that have thought about volunteering for a local board or committee would benefit greatly from the seminar, she said.
The presentation is co-sponsored by the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturing-Works, and the Wyoming Rural Development Council. It will run Thursday from 8 am to 11 am and the workshop will be from 11 to 1.
There is no cost for the seminar, but do call ahead to sign up, as they need a head count for the class and workshop.
