Local law enforcement has a plan to help deal with the influx of people that will be arriving in Sheridan for the upcoming music festival. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.

The Big Horn Country USA music festival will get underway Thursday at the Trails End Concert Park in Sheridan. Boasting some of the more notable names in country music, the festival is expected to bring several thousand people to the area over the next few days. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens says that they started to develop a plan several months ago to help keep a level of normalcy in the community throughout the three-day festival.

The Chief said that officers will be visually present during the festivities.

Adriaens said that they've taken the necessary steps to be ready for any type of situation.

The Chief added that the biggest challenge for law enforcement will be the fact that the concert is a multiple day event, which makes it tougher to patrol for a small police department than an event that takes place within several hours.
