City of Sheridan residents along with those in the county continue to clean up the mess that resulted from the fall snowstorm that occurred earlier this month. This weekend is the last free weekend at the city landfill for those hauling away their fallen trees or branches.
The landfill will be open Saturday (Oct.26) and Sunday (Oct.27) from 7:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. There will be a charge for car batteries, tires and refrigeration units that have not been decommissioned. Residential household hazardous waste will be accepted throughout the weekend.
The landfill requires that all waste be secured, covered or in a closed container. A surcharge per load may be applied if materials aren't properly secured or covered.
