The Sheridan City Council Monday night tabled the third reading of an ordinance that on its first two readings, was basically several minor changes to the boundaries of wards two and three. An amendment to the ordinance would eliminate wards altogether and change the council positions to at-large, which prompted Councilor Alex Lee to call for the motion to table.
The council would remain at six council members that would be elected to serve four year terms. If the amended ordinance is adopted, the deadline to have the change ratified by the county is March 17 in order for the at-large positions to be a part of this year's elections. The council will vote on the amended ordinance at their next meeting Tuesday, February 18.
