Laramie High School Wins 17th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge

Laramie High School took top honors in the 17th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge at Sheridan College over the weekend.  Members of the team took home a trophy, medals, and one-year full tuition scholarships from Sheridan College.

A media release issued by Sheridan College states that top small school and second place went to Big Horn High School #1 coached by Shawn Ivie, with members Ben Warder, Andrew Schuster, Christian Klepperich, and Patrick McClurg. Third place honors went to Tongue River High School coached by Tim Maze.  Team members are Sarah Maze, Donovan Powers, Owen Bensel, and Cody Perkins.

Andrew Schuster from Big Horn was also was named top individual for the competition and was also awarded a one-year full tuition scholarship from SC.The state finals are held in Riverton in April.  The top 18 teams will qualify - 12 large schools and six small schools.
