The town of Lame Deer, MT and the area north on Highway 39 to the reservation border is being evacuated due to approaching wildfires. Tribal and Bureau of Indian Affairs public safety personnel are assisting. Highway 39 is closed between Lame Deer and Colstrip due to fire activity. Evacuees will seek shelter in Ashland at St. Labre Mission School.
