The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters held their annual convention and awards banquet in Jackson over the weekend, and Sheridan Media fared well.

Elected to the next term on the Board of Directors was Bob Grammens.

KROE was voted Station of the Year for Large Market stations.

Winning other awards: Trevor Jackson took 1st Place for Best Sports Coverage and 2nd Place for Best Play by Play for Large Market stations.

Mary Jo Johnson took 2nd Place for Best News Reporter and Best News Talk for Large Market stations.

The Christmas Wish Campaign took 1st Place for Large Market Best Public Service.

Sheridanmedia.com took 1st Place for Large Market Best Web Site.

And an ad for Summit Realty with Amy Adell took 1st Place for Best Single Commercial for Large Market stations.

And Sheridan Media would like to congratulate a Sheridan High School graduate -- 1994 -- and Sheridan native Denise Pernula for winning the Best TV Anchor Award at the WAB awards ceremony. Pernula has been an evening news anchor at KTWO in Casper since November, 2009 and recently accepted a job out of the state. Among other broadcasting duties, she will be hosting entertainment news pieces that will air in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The 2012 Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Convention will be held next June in Gillette.
