Junior High School Ranks 11th Nationally

Another school in Sheridan County School District 2 has recently received national recognition for quality of education. Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair has detials.


Sheridan Junior High School has been rated number 11 in the Top 50 schools in the United States. The ranking is from TheBestSchools.org, a site that ranks schools and colleges throughout the nation. Junior high school Principal Mitch Craft said he learned of the ranking by an e-mail from the organization this week.

An announcement stated the Sheridan school was selected on several weighted factors including academic excellence and state assessment scores. The announcement noted the school offers a rich curriculum and many activities for its students, including Kid Witness News, National Junior High Honor Society, and spelling and geography bees. The announcement noted that the junior high school ranks at the top of state assessment scores for seventh and eighth grades combined.
