A Jungle Gym for Kitties to Play On

Seven years searching, trying to find something suitable for the cats at the Dog and Cat Shelter, east of Sheridan, to climb and lounge on, finally, someone came to the rescue.

Dan Miller's Woodworking and Construction Class at Sheridan High School, built a jungle gym for those felines waiting adoption. Cel Hope, director of the shelter, says cats need something special to stretch their little paws
on.

It had to be extraordinary because cats have their own unique characteristics and need a place to
unwind.

Saturday, the class delivered the apparatus which includes a kitty castle, a slide and suspension bridge and even a merry-go-round and teeter-totter. Miller says the students came up with the
ideas.

Kaden Brewer is a senior at the high school. He has volunteered at the shelter and says the kitty jungle gym is a great way to finish out the school
year.

Today the cats were introduced to their new jungle gym which can be found near the front entrance of the shelter in the outdoor exercise area for cats.
