Johnson County Republicans' Straw Poll Supports Ron Paul

Johnson County Republicans' Straw Poll Supports Ron Paul

Republicans in Johnson County held their caucus Saturday and their straw poll shows they support Ron Paul by a significant margin.
The caucus was at the Hampton Inn in Buffalo, and began with a request from Gerald Eastwood, Chair of the Johnson County Republican Party, for those interested to speak in support of their candidate.
Supporters of Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum spoke on their behalf, with no one speaking for Newt Gingrich.
The results from the straw poll were: Ron Paul, 21 votes; Rick Santorum, 14 votes; Mitt Romney, 13 votes; and Newt Gingrich, 2 votes.
Following the vote, those present from each precinct reviewed the official Wyoming Republican Party's policies and platforms, making suggestions for changes that will be reviewed at the state caucus later this year.
The straw poll is unbinding, but shows how voters present are leaning.
The official county vote for their choice for candidate for President will be at the county's convention March 10 at 10 am at the Hampton Inn.
Eleven delegates and alternates and a single delegate to the National Republican Convention will be elected at the caucus March 10.
