At their meeting Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners opened bids from four insurance carriers to provide health insurance to county employees.
Mountain Benefit Management Company, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Cobecon gave short presentations after the bid openings. Rocky Mountain Administrators had no representatives at the opening, but requested a meeting with the commissioners at a later date to make their presentation.
Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman explained to the carriers present what the county was hoping to accomplish by looking at a new insurance carrier.
The commissioners will review the proposals and have scheduled a work session for April 19th for the carriers to make their presentations and answer questions from the commission and employees.
