The Johnson County Library is moving forward in the planning and design stages of their proposed expansion project.
Director Cynthia Twing have an update to the county commission at their last meeting, saying they have sent out a Request For Proposal for the design of the new wing for the library.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting this Friday for all interested in designing the wing, wi=hich is envisioned as a 10,000-square foot, two-level wing to add on to the existing 8,000 square foot library.
The Johnson County Library Foundation will pay for the costs of the designs, she said.
Twing explained more to the commission about the time line for the project.
Twing said City Planner Zach Montgomery is working with the Library Foundation to find possible funding sources in addition to the county.
